Masquerade Ball

Tonight the Celebrity Century will host a Masquerade Ball. Whytney is quite excited about this! All the quests come donning elaborately embellished masks. Whytney was able to purchase one of these handmade treasures at a recent stop in Pisa! So much fun...have a great time for us too!

Today, Whytney will be at sea - a work day - a money-making day. Lots of spa appointments surely for all those gals wanting to look beautiful for this evenings ball! Which, of course, will translate to (hopefully) many tips.

Tomorrow, Whytney will have a day off in Salerno, Italy. Salerno is approximately 30 miles from Naples. It is a more relaxing, less chaotic place (than Naples). Most tourists never venture to this region which lends itself to cheaper rates on accomadations and food.

Whytney will be going to the beach and working on her tan all day. Typically, the weather is sunny and mild - temps in the 80's - perfect for building a beautiful tan.

Whytney will find a quaint city - once reduced to rubble - when in September of 1943; Allies landed. When the city was rebuilt, a lot of the Italian charm was lost. However, it still boasts a busy seafront boulevard with many shops and active nightlife.

We have missed Whytney greatly on this the 4th of July - our family typically does an amazing fireworks show to celebrate our countries independence. However, this year the magic seems to be dulled; whether it is the fact that the face of our nation is changing (to our dismay) or the fact that we are missing our favorite face (of Whytney) - the feeling is just not there. We did celebrate on the hilltop in Cynthiana and they put on an impressive show last night! Kendall enjoyed seeing the fireworks and playing on some inflatables that were set up for free entertainment for the kiddies.

Today, we will travel to Nina's and Poppy's to visit with them and have a Sunday brunch. Whytney used to love going to Nina's house. Nina's little sunshine....
