Another day off in Venice

Overnight in Venice, Italy today with 30 days to go.  I think that Whytney was going to be able to go out in Venice tonight - I hope that she gets a great meal and enjoys the nightlife in Venice.

She would have no problem finding numerous pubs, clubs, or discos in Venice.  I wonder if she has ever been to a disco?  I wonder if we still have discos here in the states?  That so reminds me of the "John Travolta" days!

Most Venice natives take early evening strolls along the Riva degli Schiavioni.  Those visitors to Venice might want to visit some places around St. Mark's Square.  Here the "late" night tourist can find some nightlife.  Also there are more bohemian type areas in the backstreets of Cannaregio and San Polo; but most places will close around midnight or 1 a. m. You may luck out and find a few open later.

It is easier to find nightclubs in the summer when the tourist population is booming, however, they are not the easiest to find.  Harry's Bar is a must to visit.  This is the home of the Bellini; a must have when you are in Venice.  I had a Bellini one time at Johnny Carino's (in Frankfort, KY) but I am sure that there was a lot lost in translation - hope Whytney has one of those for me!

If she wanted a pub, The Fiddler's Elbow would be a good place to try - if she is pining for a more "English" atmosphere.  Otherwise, she could visit Bar Al Volto or Do Mori, a couple of Venetian bars that are favorites with the locals.

Whytney could dance at the Aida, a well known disco or at Casanova Music Cafe (the only club in Venice that is open until 4 a. m.).  Or she could find live music at Bacaro Jazz or the Paradiso Perduto.

I know that it is quite expensive, but I wish she would be able to take a gondola ride and relax while sailing through the streets of Venice.

Tomorrow Whytney will be in Venice again - another overnight!  and we will be in the TWENTIES!!!

Until then....LUM&L
